9 Interior Design Trends for 2022

What’s trending for 2022 in interior design? Our top picks are in! We’ve compiled a list of the trends we love and are seeing everywhere in the industry this year.

  1. Reusing and Repurposing: With the pandemic impacting every aspect of our lives, we found ourselves doing more DIY and shopping in our own homes for fresh décor ideas and new ways to re-use what we already have.

  2. Maximalism: An all-in, everything-goes style! This year, mixing “happy” reds and jewel-toned greens completes this bold style.

  3. Glass: Glass is being used across several design styles via tables, lighting, and accessories. There is no wrong choice in this category! Touches of glass throughout your décor can add a delicate note or a touch of light due to its beautiful reflective nature.

  4. Grand Millennial Style: This style is maximalism with a twist! Grand Millennial Style pairs floral and traditional items but with a playful spin. Perfect examples include your grandma’s favorite wingback chair covered in faux sheepskin, or using colored ghost chairs with a Queen Anne dining room table.

  5. Curved Lines: Curved lines were popular in 2021 and will continue to be in 2022. We’re seeing curved lines in furniture, rugs, arches, and oversized furniture.

  6. Warm Neutrals: Another popular design element we are seeing again this year is warm neutrals. It’s one of my favorites, and I think it’s here to stay! Utilizing shades of creams, taupes, and whites in lots of textures, neutral tones and woods can add a warm cozy vibe to a space.

  7. Plants: They never go out of style, but we have seen a real uptick in having plants in our homes as we have all been spending more time at home and making the transition to working from home. We want these little cuties in our lives! They make a statement in a space, add a natural element, and add color and texture.

  8. Scenic Murals: Murals are really coming in big this season and last. They’re a great way to make a statement on a wall or in an alcove. Using removeable decals or wallpaper is a great way to add some personality to rentals without the commitment or risk of getting in trouble with a landlord.

  9. Mixing Old and New: While not a new design concept, pairing classic or traditional items with new or modern items creates a unique look that can be understated and flat-out stunning.
